So I'm back from the lake - compared to Mongolia it was nothing special. So far, I'd say the best thing about Russia is taht they all talk Russian. It's a brilliant language, I love the way it sounds! Everyone sounds like a spy ; )

Managed to try a lot of local food already, even by accident! The specialities here are chicken shyslick (chicken kebab), meat dumplings in broth (meat wontons in dill flavoured soup - they use a lot of dill here!), smoked omul (smoked fish) and potatoes (potatoes).

And sorry to leave you gagging for more, but that is it for my current fascinating information! Am leaving on the train in a couple of hours. It does seem highly likely that I will be the only Westerner!! Hmmm ; )
